Hi, I have a 1. Can I remove content streams from Adobe PDF file? I’ve already reduced the file size by reducing the image quality, but I need to get the document below 1MB if possible. When I audit how to reduce indesign pdf file size usage in the PDF optimizer tool, I see that over 1MB of space is being taken up by “Content Streams”.
Well, I have no ideas if you can reduce the size of the content streams by knowing what they are. Maybe there is a way to not include some information that is unnecessary when you make the PDF. It says you can browse the structure of a PDF document. So, I suppose you could try this method to see what streams are in your document. Thanks for pointing me to this document. Apparently the only way to reduce the size of content streams is to manipulate the source document.
We were not able to substantially reduce the file size in the end. Your answer gave us a starting place and was very helpful. Thanks for letting me know what you had to do! And I am glad that document helped some.
